Sorry for posting, but for the last 3 days my wisdom teeth have been trying to come through again.

Trouble is my mouth is not big enough, so every so often they try to 'erupt'

I have had enough now of being in pain and just wish there was something I could do.

Oh kirsty, you poor thing....
They are horrible things to get, no wonder babies when they are teething!!
Have you tried anbesol liquid? I swore by it for all my four kids, if that fails, try either whiskey or brandy, if you can stomach it and swill it around your mouth, especially the sore areas,

Hey Kirsty, poor you, it's horrible isn't it. I had mine whipped out as soon as it got too much. Sending you a big hug. This is a bit strange but I found chewing on a hankerchief to be very soothing![:I] X

I had the same problem and I had mine out under general anaesthetic as soon as I could! I used to rinse my mouth with warm salty water - it stung, but it kept them clean and salt aids healing.

Thanks to you both, I have used ambesol, and paracetamol, now just about to try the alcohol, thinking I might have to go to dentist about getting them removed, just not sure how I will be able to afford it and also I am a scardy cat when it comes to dentists.

Have you got an NHS dentist? I was referred to the hospital and didn't have to pay anything. This was a few years ago, so I don't know if things have changed.

So sorry your feeling so sore - I empathise - I've already had two out. If you're worried about the cost (and it can be pricey if you're not NHS), another possibility is a dental hospital. I know my sister, who is on benefits and autistic so completely freaks at going to the dentist (once nearly bit his finger off!) that she ended up going to the dental hospital, where they sedated her and whipped them out - all for free. The only downside is that you are operated on by student dentists (though towards the end of their training so nearly qualified) and they are supervised by a dental surgeon.

Sorry, bit of a long winded post and may not help at all, but thought it worth saying.

My daughter, when she was young, had to have four baby teeth out. The first two were ok as she didn't know what to expect. The next time she fought like a tiger, caused the dentist to inject his thumb with the anaesthetic (think I spelled it right!), and had to have her father lie across her legs as she was kicking out so much and the nurse had to hold her arms!!!!!!!!!! And she also screamed the place down.

I was at work so missed all the drama (I'm glad to say!)

OMG Jan, I bet she won't go near a dentist now!! I remember when I was little, the dentist had the biggest hands I've ever seen, even now, and I was terrified!!!!
Wasn't until I had the kids and had to be 'brave' infront of them that I overcome my dread!! I'm still not jumping through hoops when I go but I'm not scared anymore.

I always use Codis (painkiller) in warm water. Swish it round your mouth then swallow

Chris, she goes for a checkup when we do and has never had to have anything done since. All this when she has to be nagged into cleaning her teeth everyday. She's 20 now by the way!

Hi I too have had problems with my wisdom teeth this week!

How miserable does it make you eh.

I have been using Anadin Ultra the green liquid ones. They seem to take about half an hour to kick in but give some relief for a few hours.

i'm frightened to not go dentist in case lose NHS place
