This evening i had my consultation with the hospital dentist.
He was disgusted to say the least that i have been left in pain for so long.
He also looked into the medicatios i take for the MS and said that they will already be putting stress on my liver, so that combined with the ammount of pain killers i have been taking caused him to really worry. He basically told me straight, theres no going back once my liver is damaged so the tooth has to come out and SOON.
Anyway, his next clinic is 9am friday morning but he is going to start it 15 minutes early and get me in to have this tooth taken out finally.
He also said there is no known reason for my own dentist not taking it out in the first place.

Good news on when the tooth is coming out,but not good news about the other problems.

Your dentist wants shooting!

I hope it all goes well for you on Friday. I'll be thinking of you.

How frustrating to be told that your dentist could have and maybe should have taken out the tooth originally! Still almost Friday and you'll be pain free, all the best from me x

I think changing dentist may be very wise.
This is the 3rd time i have had problems with them.

The first was actually with my little boy when he was 3. Hes very challenging and was having a bit of a kick off in there and one of the men that own the dentist practice, leaned over the counter and yelled at him to shout up.
We did take matters further and were given a written apology.

Second time, i wet for a tooth out and the lady that did it left half the root in and an exposed nerve. When the anesthetic had worn off i was jumping to the ceiling with electric shocks in my mouth. I rang them they said i was imagining it and just take some paracetamol untill the gum had healed. It didnt stop so i rang again and they gave me an apointment and the remaining bit of tooth and nerve was removed.
Then this time. Its been going on for months now and i have phoned and begged them do something, just be be told "sorry theres nothing more we can do now you have been referred"
Its a joke. The problem is, the dentist more local to me has so many people complaining about them.

Anyway, i will be pain free on friday and they are starting me on a course of anti biotics as soon as the tooth is out. He doesnt think i will need them but he thinks after all the trouble i have already had, the last thing i need is an infection so they are really just a precaution.

Thanks for all the good wishes, they really do mean a lot xxxxxx

I think some dentist will do almost anything to save a tooth, let's face it, if you have no teeth you have no reason to go to the dentist!! Some are good and some are ruthless and money hungry, like all walks of life......
Glad you are finally getting it sorted, there's nothing worse than toothache.

Hubby's ex-dentist refused to take his tooth out, even though that's what hubby wanted, cost a fortune to have repairs done, two visits, waste of time and money. Our new dentist is lovely, but we haven't really needed anything doing yet. Hubby broke his tooth the other day on an opal fruit (how???) so he's going next week, not sure what he'll do.

Glad your finally getting it sorted out, I don't know how you've lasted that long! I'd have pulled it out myself by now!!
I just have to hope I don't need a dentist, I've been on a waiting list for an nhs dentist for at least 3 years!
Just think of all those choccies afterwards.....
