Around 2 weeks ago I heard of a discount that EDF are doing of 15% for people who spend more than 10% of their disposable income on gas/electric.

The Tariff reduction is called Energy Assist. (It is a straight 15% reduction of whatever tariff you are on now with EDF.)

Give them a call to see if you are eligible and they will set it up straight away - the discount becomes immediately activated.

I am on a pre payment meter and I will get my 15% refunded back to me every April (ish) by way of a cheque, if on a normal pay monthly tariff the discount is applied immediately.

0800 056 3866 is the number to call.

When I called I explained that technically I have no disposable income as all of it goes into the IVA, so she applied the discount straight away.

Get calling and get saving!

EDITED – This does not lock you into your contract, nor is there any minimum term with this – you are free to switch at any point and leave. If you are currently with EDF anyway – it’s a no loose situation.

Trevor.

10 Payments down, 50 to go - or (as I like to think) "17% of the way through!"
