Hi All,

We had a mad 5 minutes in work today, where we were remembering songs from the 80's. Then we got onto songs that remind us of people/places. Just wondering what song would we all have?

"I will survive" ( maybe for Mrs Skint [:D])or "Things can only get better" - prob suit all of us eh?

xx

I remember while i was in hospital, shortly after being diagnosed, watching the song of the year programe(cant remember what its called)
The number one song for the year was you raise me up by Westlife. My daughter and i absolutely loved that song.
After i came out of the hospital, every time i heard that song i cried my eyes out.
I have told my loved ones that i want that song played at my funeral. My daughter wont listen to it any more she now hates it LOL

I know it shouldn't but that really tickles my sense of the ridiculous. Laugh ... I nearly needed new trousers [:D][:D]

Sorry to be a bore ... but mine would be the Ride of The Valkyries. In those days I did a l;ot of driving and having that blaring out while 'burning rubber' down the motorways was a blast [:D][:D]

Everytime I hear that song now Ray I think of that funeral!

Mind you, last year I went down to Somerset to my Uncles funeral which went off as expected, until it came to the music they play as you leave the chapel (it was at a crem). It was fairground music - the sort they play when you're on the carousel(or at least they did when I was a kid!) I was totally gobsmacked and very hard pushed not to start laughing!

I want Call the Fire Brigade at my funeral just as I'm going through the curtains!

Back to You by Bryan Adams makes me think of Dave as we split up loads of times at the start and always got back together.

Summer of 69 always makes me smile as it's such a happy song.

I remember being in the car with Dave and Everything I Do I Do It For You came on the radio. Dave told me that whenever he hears it he thinks of me. I was sitting there thinking how lovely, but he had to ruin it by telling me it was because I like Bryan Adams - and there was me thinking it was because of the words!

I can't listen to Take Me Home Country Roads without crying as we had that at my Dad's funeral. We also had King of the Road, but that doesn't upset me as much.

Well,i would def have to have one of my fave simple minds songs played at my funeral.something soulful with nice words. One of my fave tracks is Alive & kicking, but i dont think that would be appropriate as i would most certainly not be alive & kicking!! Think it would have to be Dont you forget about me.[:)] x

Already made plans for mine. It's a beautiful song called Lazarus by a band called Porcupine Tree. If you don't know it, look it up on You Tube, you won't be disappointed!
