... and 15 days to Kalli's birthday (just thought I'd mention it). sub Zero here again and the roads were great for 360's at 4.00 this morning. Int driving in winter fun??? Still I got back home in one piece which is a lot more than can be said for the 3 cars I passed in the ditch. Anyhoo ... enough doom and gloom ... here's todays little groanette .....

Mrs Wizz decided to move with the times and try the delights of microwave cooking. Whereupon, her devoted husband Wizz went out and bought her a brand new top-of-the range Sharp Microwave oven.

Christmas approached and Mrs Wizz got out her Christmas pudding recipe and assembled the ingredients. She proceeded along traditional lines and even got the each member of the family to stir the mixture 'for luck'. When she consulted the microwave's manual for the cooking time, she could not believe that ten minutes would be enough for a traditional Christmas pudding. Consequently she decided to substitute her normal cooking time of 50 minutes.

As Mrs Wizz was in the lounge watching a re run of Corry she did not see the pudding spitting in the microwave oven, nor did she hear the mini-explosions. When she finally extracted the pudding from the microwave after nearly an hour of cooking on 'High', it smelt of burnt sugar and looked like a ball of tar. Naturally, the Christmas pudding was a disaster, so much so, that she could not even prod it with a fork. In fact the black ball stuck to the bottom of the bowl and Wizz had to get a screwdriver to prize it from its base.

In a fit of pique, Mrs Wizz threw the shriveled Christmas pudding to Tabs and Muffin her 2 cats. After a few days she could see the funny side, and the moggies loved their new indestructible toy, which amused them until the next Christmas.

Have a great Wednesday and be careful of the roads.

Good morning

Its very cold and frosty here, it looks very Christmassy because everything is white. No snow though. I am sure we were supposed to get some or is that tomorrow? I have to go out today, I have some ug boots and they are going on.

Has anyone else got some snow?

Have a great day.

Fabulously cold in Manchester, and the back roads were a little like a skating rink this morning. The weathermen say we should have snow tonight, which believe it or not, is actually really rare here, certainly over the last 30 years or so.

I can't wait, I love all the snow/christmas type thing. Hopefully it will snow before the kids go to bed, but if not and it snows overnight then I will wake them early for snowball fights before I go to work tomorrow.

Sods law says it will rain now that I have all my hopes up.

Regards.

I have just watched the forecast, there is a load of rain coning in from the north west but as its so cold it will turn to snow. It will affect us all apart from those in the far east and south. I am getting my christmas tree tomorrow so that will be lovely, getting a Christmas tree in the snow.

It's also 20 days to my birthday.......and I will be the big 40 - but I don't envisage celebrating as it's soooooo close to xmas :-) and I will have just arrived back home from working away for quite some time and not had time to plan anything !!

But thanks for the countdown.....much better than an advert calendar.

Hi its very icy on our close too, they dont grit as the roads are too narrow.

I was so sorted this morning, got the kids off, had a nice cuppa and some toast, did the housework and dinner ready for tonight, had a nice shower and lots of time to get ready. Was meeting my step daughter in town, my younger daughter had the afternoon off so she came too, was meeting her so she could dump her bag into my car before getting the train. Just ten mins before I left, knock on door, chap to do next doors porch said he had rang her and told her he was coming but couldnt get an answer, I went round the back no sign of her, windows were open so I was worried... went to the scarecrows house to see if she knew anything, she said she had popped to shops. I was all ready to phone the police or something. Chap asked if he could use my electric for his drill but I said I am going out, I dont mind if you shove it through the letter box as my son will be home in two hours... he got the plug stuck in the letter box, we tried everything to get it out, in the end kitchen oil and a good old poke with a butter knife it came out, so I was late. Then my car was as dead as a dodo.. nothing... oh sh*t, so I got the bus after a flippin freezing cold hoof on skate rink type roads. Ended up on the wrong bus so got a taxi to the station. Still we hit brum, did some crimbo shopping, got the train back and a nice lift from the station by my son and he had sorted out my car for me. Alls well that ends well eh?

Happy days.

Well, boo hiss it DIDN'T snow where I am, just blinking freezing rain. Everywhere a little higher seems to have snow but not us.

Gutted that we couldn't have a snowball fight, not for me you understand but for the children.....
