I have no idea why this is so cloak and dagger, but after hearing several rumours, I finally got a cashier to whisper "big sale tomorrow, 50% off of 90% of stock, please dont say anything"
Why is that? Because they are in administartion?
Anyway, my friend is lending me £50 so I can have some fun![:)]

I went into our local Woolies on Monday and it was like the Marie Celeste ... stock was low ... very few customers and the staff should have been available for Shaun of the Dead. I can feel for them though having been in the redundancy position once or twice in the past ... you tend to give up.

It must be so hard for the staff to carry on as normal with everything thats going on.
I don't like shopping at the best of times, what happens to people when there is a sale on? All manners go out of the window - I popped into M&S yesterday and those "grey haired grannies" were lethal [:D]

oooooh arent they just, those grannys? In M and S, they seem so frail in the queue (particularly if they are behind you, with very pleading eyes) but give them a sale rail and they are like starving dogs with a thrown out steak.
Poor Woolies, poor staff, we will miss you.

I read in the paper today that the sale wasn't as good as expected as it was up to 50% off, and most things were reduced by 10 or 20%.

I'm glad it's not just me that doesn't like shopping - my friends all think I'm weird because I don't!
I did get a couple of bargains yesterday though. Dave and I went to the Gunwharf Quays outlet in Portsmouth and I managed to get a dress for the Christmas party at work in French Connection. It's a lovely blue shift dress with a high neck and gems around the neckline. I was £35, but would have been £110 if I'd paid full price - not that I'd pay £110 for a dress even in my extravagant days!
The best bargain was my stereo though! My uncle is really into his hi fi equipment and last year he gave me his old Bose stereo, which he'd paid nearly £1000 for (I told you he was serious!) because it won't play all his CDs. I've been meaning to get it fixed, but when I went into the Bose outlet yesterday I got a 5 CD changer for £75, reduced from £279! I now have a fully working stereo that as only cost me £75!
I may not like shopping but I love a bargain!

You did get a bargain Skip, on the dress and stereo!
I shop for what I want, but can't stand browsing or window shopping. In and out thats me [:D]
We're like peas in a pod, hate shopping and allergic to cooking [:D]

[:D] Julie!
I knew I wanted a dress so headed straight for Next but they didn't have anything so I went to French Connection - if they hadn't had anything I was going to give up!
