I have a query .... I've been told by my doctor that because I can't lie in bed I should acquire a reclining chair in order to help me rest at night. It has to be the correct type as shown by the Mobility peeps in various adds on TV. I've done a little research into them today and my god aren't they expensive. Does the panel think my IP might let me miss a couple of payments in order to buy one??

I don't see why not, especially as you've been told that you need one by the doctor. Will you be able to get any help towards the cost?

Get in contact with your IP and I'm sure they'll be able to help xxx

I don't think there will be a problem with that Ray.

When you go to get one, mention that it is for health reasons. You can usually get the VAT knocked off.

We have an electric bed as hubby suffers with heart problems and COPD and because of that, we didn't have to pay any VAT.

Which one?[:D][:D]

Seriously, the furniture place should be able to give you a form to fill in and for your doctor to sign (although they accepted hubby's word for it when we bought the bed).

It's only the vat, but it does mount up when the item is expensive, we got about £350 off the bed.

Every little helps!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like a perfectly acceptable and reasonable request to me also Ray and I am sure your IP will be most sympathetic and helpful in this.

Regards.

Give it a try Ray.
I could do with one of them electric beds. My legs get so sore and stiff through the night. I'm just too tight to buy one.

We've had it for years now - it was when we could splash the plastic and afford it!

Hubby sometimes has trouble sleeping lying flat, so that was ideal for him.

I found it very useful when I came out of hospital in December as my scar is vertical and is a long one and I found it difficult to get up from lying flat.

Hi Ray
I don't know whether this is worth considering but here goes.

I belong to the freeads site and it's where people put on line anything they want to get rid off free of charge. I've picked up some fantastic things all in immaculate condition the latest being a double buggy for when i have both my grand daughters together. You never know someone may be offering one in your area for nothing.
