..Now I'm not anti children....I have 2 of my own and 2 adorable granddaughters, but why oh why does every household seem to have a manzize trampoline in their garden!!!

Sitting outside this evening,enjoying peace and quiet, reading a Norah Roberts book and what do I see........heads of children from 3 doors down bouncing up and down?!?!

Maybe its me, but I find it so annoying!

I totally agree Julie! Luckily we don't have children either side of us, but I'm sure the family up the road will get their little darlings a trampoline as soon as they are old enough!

I'm fortunate that the kids next door to us are into anything that involves a ball. The youngest one the other side is severely autistic and I think a trampoline is the last thing they would get him!

We've got a trampoline but no matter how high you jump the tree's are too tall anyway.(& we cut them down loads. It's good exercise too.[:D]

That's ok Wonder, it's if their heads kept appearing over the fence I'd have a problem!

Sorry to hear how much you all dislike these but now we have a garden n all the kids in the area have one, I am thinking of getting mine one! But its only to stop them stalking friends houses at anytime of day asking to go play - cos they have one! My kids look like lost souls standing outside peoples gardens - waiting to see if they can go in n play in their friends garden to play on one!!! Plus its cheaper than a swing play set?!?!? - sorry but I might be joining the trampoline garden gang?!?!?!

I can see its good exercise for the lazy parent....but at least place them where they don't intrude on neighbours!

I'm sorry if I offend but I prefer my girls to be out walking rather than taking the easy option option of bouncing!

Its obviously the in thing at the moment and I can understand peer pressure makes you get one. I just wish parents could be more innovative when it comes to exercise and not dump their children on something that intrudes on neighbours.

What happened to walking,hopscotch, skipping and footie........or am I getting old [:D]

I agree Julie. The last thing you want is for the neighbours kids to be appearing over the fence while you're trying to sit quietly in your garden.

I'm sure they will soon die a death though, as everything does.

I can understand both sides of the coin here as to why they're so popular with the kids as they can all play together[8D] and have a lot of fun on them..Adults too when they've had a bit to drink, well that's what my brother and his OH and friends used to do[:D]..But I can understand how annoying it must be for the neighbour as well, when they're trying to relax in the garden...I think as long as they appreciate that and place it where they don't have to keep seeing lots of heads bobbing up and down ,then it shouldn't cause any problem...We don't have any in our close as the kids are all still too young...

My Brother bought one for his two sons (aged 7 & , didn't watch them play in it the one day and my younger nephew hit himself on the metal part of the trampoline and got concussion and had to be taken to hospital..Luckily he was ok but my brother got rid after that..So you do need to watch over them at all times as well..[:)]

I agree - even though they have the net round the side, they can still be dangerous.

I used to do trampolining at school (one of my better sports!) and there were always people round the edge of the trampoline in case you fell - and it was a massive one we used.

I loved trampolining and I used to go to classes at the leisure centre. Unfortunately it's not local, otherwise I'd probably still go!

With you 100% swans_girl. They are the latest chav accessory. We have 2 families in our street with them, one directly behind our property. Did the garden this morning and all I could see were the kids heads bobbing over the fence!

Not one who normally bothers about these things and guess its not the kids faults. However, we will see how they feel when I buy my pigeon coup!! [:p]

Also, I guess its not like the daily mail to scaremonger... but, the statistics for accidents on these things is horrific [:0]

I don't consider trampolines to be the latest chav accessory and would love to be able to listen to children over the road on a trampoline or other rather than the europeans playing their bum bum music! The bass is all you can hear and it drives me mad! Lots of my nice friends have trampolines for their children and daughter is getting Granddaughter one after her garden is fenced in (priorities). I agree it can be annoying but we all have our own gripes about our neighbourhood, the noise in mine is horrendous!

We sometimes have noise from the lads across the road - usually rolling home at about 4 o'clock in the morning talking loudly!

Other than that it is bliss.

At the risk of sounding snobby, which I don't mean to be, it is the chavs round by us who have them.
