I am watching the Sky and BBC News 24 coverage as we speak and it is unbelievable. As Mrs S says, I wouldn't wish him dead but the guy has done nothing for 20 to 25 years, but according to the news coverage, the greatest musical legend of all time has passed.

Without being cruel, he wasn't Elvis or John Lennon was he?

And that ignores his private life, which may best be descibed as colourful, although I sincerely hope that all the stories were not true.

Regards.

Whatever he's done or not done, he's dead, he leaves 3 children and a family...not saying I'm him No.1 fan but...RIP Michael x

Not a fan at all, but it is a tragedy when anyone is taken at a relatively young age leaving children. My thoughts are with them and his family.
Thoughts also with Farrah Fawcetts friends and family.

Size5 I agree with you totally. I'm not surprised he has died young with the amount of abuse his body has had with all the operations.

Yes, he leaves children behind, but perhaps they can now go on to live a more normal life. The way he was with them sometimes - dangling over balconies, covering with veils, are not the actions of a normal parent.

He was very talented in his younger days, and I still love the Thriller albun, but the majority of publicity he had gained in recent years was not good.

I shall get annoyed with the news as well as there will be nothing else on all day!

They will never live a normal life as they will never be allowed to either with or without him (in my opinion). Edited to add, I asked my son one day why he couldn't be 'normal'...his reply..'you tell me what normal is and I'll be it!'....we all have our own expectation of normal but most is what is acceptable.

My eldest can be and is very eccentric in his views and ways I hasten to add, although he has no children and long may it remain that way.

I'm with Size5 on this one. I liked him around the time he released Bad, but that's it. With everything he's done to his body over the years I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner.

Farrah Fawcett died yesterday as well, but no doubt she'll be forgotten about.

RIP to both of them.
