My walking boots seem to have developed a leak whenever I do some boggy walking.........even avoiding puddles they seem to get wet. I think I must have a hole somewhere - so how do I find it and how do I fix it?
They are not leather boots and in very good condition.......
Thank you!

Bucket of water and a puncture kit?

It's worth a try if the hole is only small.

Hubby says, turn the boot over so the sole is upwards, bend the sole downwards and see if you can see any cracks in the rubber or any foreign bodies in the sole.
If not, it is obviously getting in somewhere else so try a tin of dubbin and liberally coat the uppers in that.

You can buy it from most Army and Navy stores or most camping outlets.
It is a thick, greasy waterproofing agent for boots.

One day my son wondered why his school shoes wouldn't shine many moons ago and that's why he was using dubbin, which he used on his football boots!
