Thank God for Christmas markets [:)] I was in Germany for 11 years when in the Army and got fond of Currywurst sauce, which you can not buy in the UK. The bloke who comes over from Germany to Liverpool to set up his stall has for the last 3 years brought an extra couple of 1L bottles of sauce with him so I have a supply. This year we got our sauce from him and he has given us an extra bottle, should last until June next year if I take the door keys off my scrounging kids [}:)][:D]

What on earth is Currywurst sauce? Never heard of it

My daughter and I went to Bath Christmas Market end of November and bought NOTHING.It was billed as all local crafts and locally souced stuff. Most of the stuff on sale I could get off the internet cheaper and not much was local as labels said so.We stayed the night in a Travel Lodge in Glastonbury and went to Clarks Village where we got some great bargains. Monsoon tops for a fiver and skirts and jumpers in M&S for as little as £5. We had a great time together and laughed most of the time even though the weather was c**p.

Clarks village is brilliant - not been for a while but I have relatives who live not too far away so last time we went down I went for a visit.

The German market in Birmingham is pretty much authentic and the atmosphere is great.

Curry sauce?? have you tried the sauces you can get at Tesco, not the normal branded stuff, but if you look on the world foods ailse, they do a chinese curry sauce, its superb seriously superb curry sauce, we also do cock soup, a bit wierd but sells a fair chunk, hope the swear filter doesn't edit it.

I do like the German market as well, very nice food, and the beer although a bit pricey but well worth it, a week or 2 back i went up, had a beer in one hand a frankfurter in the other, and it snowed, so nice!

Home made curry sauce is the best.

The continental markets in Manchester are the tops! Great for atmosphere, spicy and curry bratwurst on tap. They get bigger every year and are much looked forward to by the locals. Having said that, the winter wonderland in Hyde Park is sensational as well. Mrs Size and I took a weekend away without the sizettes a couple of weeks ago and spent most of the saturday there, we ended wishing we had brought them with us as they would have loved it.

I've got Christmas Markets surrounding me here in Vienna. There's 41 of them apparently. Only problem is I should have flown home on Saturday and it's not looking like tomorrow (Monday) either...why can't the UK cope with snow? A lot of snow fell here in Vienna last week and the airport closed for just 2 hours. Getting really fed up...

Made it at last, only 48 hours later but the stress of not being sure you're ever going to get home gets to you. At least I was holed up in a nice hotel with a warm bed and a large bath to soak the stresses away! When I eventually landed at Heathrow yesterday it was chaos. Listening to other people's stories in the queue for the bus to the car park put everything in perspective.. My problems were nothing in comparison...
