It doesn't hurt at the time. The worst bit is the local anesthetic. It may hurt more for a few days as if they are putting steroids in and they will be hitting the painful area.

As to whether they work, it depends, I believe, on how long you have had the pain. I have been turned down for them in the last month as I have had the pain for more than 2 years.

It's worth giving it a go, even if you are poorly for a few days. If it stops the inflammation and blocks the pain signals then your muscles etc will relax and those pesky discs may slot back in nicely!!

Good luck!!

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. I understand about that sort of pain, although thankfully mine is intermittent. Seems to affect me if I have been sitting or lying down for a while.

Have they said you may have to have more than 1 go at it?

Had two myself over the last two years. they do not hurt at all. my last one did not take the pain away there and then,
But a week or so later I noted there was no paid,
Docter told me some time it take time to work.

Well had it done and was sedated for the procedure so cannot really recall what exactly happened ...however four hours later I feel worn out and the base of my spine feels very hot and sore....finding it difficult to sit and to lay down....they did say it would take a couple of days to settle !

Glad it went ok. When my GP gave me a steroid jab in my derriere he did say it can be painful if it is hitting the spot. So let's hope pain is good in this instance!

Hope it helps. Take it easy for a couple of days while it settles.
