Have to share my anger.... just as I was snuggling down to sleep last night my phone went off @ 10.30pm..... I immediately answered it thinking there was a problem with a relative or one of the buildings I manage at work.....but no it was a company wanting to talk to me about their services that I had enquired about on the internet earlier in the evening.....
I asked the lady if she would call back tomorrow as i wasn't prepared to discuss things at 10.30pm at night....she was very rude, huffed and then said she would text me the number for me to ring them back !
Urghhhh I was cross - how dare they think it acceptable to ring at that time of night !
Rant over !

That's a bit too late and I wouldn't have been happy either. did they text the number? ring them and put a complaint in. Not sure if there are guidelines as to what time they can ring/can't ring to be sure but that information should be held somewhere.
If it's from abroad time difference may be a factor too but never known anyone ring at that time before well not to me anyway x

That's a disgrace Liz! Problem with these firms is that if they are calling from abroad they are not bound by any of our rules!!!
I'm sick of getting calls about utilities/microsoft/ppi etc so have just signed up to call barring from Sky. Yesterday we had just such a call and when I went to enter the number it was already there!!!!! What is the point in paying for a service if you don't get it?
Needless to say it has been reported to Sky and, according to the very nice asian man I spoke to, it's never happened before!!!! It has been escalated up to the next level so I await the outcome iwth interest.

Happens to me on a regular basis Kalli ... I have Call Barring but for some reason it does not work .. I'm also ex directory but the swines seem to know me by name so now I screen all calls via Answerphone .... if they really need to speak to me they can leave a message and I might get back to them. As for 10:30pm calls I only answer the phone between 7:00am and 6:00pm ... anyone outside these times is plumb outta luck.

I'm paying for a service so I expect it to be delivered!!! They have escalated my problem so hopefully I can get an answer.
It always worked with BT.

I got a call today on the ambulance station emergency phoneline asking if I had been in an accident,to say I ripped the caller a new bottom would be a massive understatement!!!
God only knows where they plucked the number from.

That's not good Paul and good on you for giving them what for!!
Sky have contacted me me tonight (English call centre for a change!!) and are escalating my complaint yet again and I have been told that I'm not being charged for the (non) service at the moment. He even asked me if I was registered with TPS, whioh I am. T did have to point out that the calls are through a portal from Asia so TPS can do nothing about it.
I will update!!!!

If anyone rings our house at an unearthly hour then we can guarantee it's the MIL and although hubby hasn't spoken to her since New Years Day due to the wonderful card she sent me (he's finding it hard to forgive her).
She did ring at gone 11 the other night and left an answerphone message asking how hubby was getting on at the library........don't ask, don't think the blokes been in a library for year if he ever has !

If we get calls in the middle of the night then I know it will be either of my parents so I daren't not answer.
I will be giving Sky what for depending upon wbat they say when they call back.
