An odd request, but, has anyone here any experience of using a CPAP machine, either as a wearer or the other half that has to put up with the noise ?

Hi, my daughter had to use one when she was about 9 months old. She was in the hospital on intensive care at the time so didn't really notice the noise.

Kallis --- it's a Continuous Positive Airway Pressure machine. pumps air into your lungs at a positive pressure so that your throat doesn't collapse and obstruct the airway. It's mainly used by those who stop breathing when asleep !

Thank you - I'd never heard of it before.

Foggy, that sounds like the machine my 79 year old dad has to use. His is on 24/7 and either the neighbours are very understanding......or deaf[:D]
Only kidding, not that bad really if you get one of the smaller compact models.

Cheers Marksam. I am waiting on the results of my pulse oxymeter test. Would you believe it, the night I wore the gizmo was one of the best nights sleep I have had in ages ..... maybe all I really need is to go to bed with a clothes peg on my finger (acupressure style!).
