Just wondering if anyone else suffers lack of sleep while sorting out your iva/ debt solution
Has you prob can tell from my username I'm a bricklayer [:D]

Has anyone else had this and how you cope

People deal with and react to the stresses in different ways, but I am guessing lack of sleep is a common one most of us have suffered.

Once the IVA is up and running, apart from a few wobbles we all get, things will get easier, as long as you make sure that your allowances (and therefore payments) are comfortable right from the start. If you are lucky enough to be able to have money left in your account at the end of the month ...SAVE IT :-) Having a little emergency cushion there certainly calms the nerves.

When I can't sleep (rare these days -- I could sleep 24 hours a day ... have done a few times ... but that's another story), I imagine I have won the lottery, work out the interest, and spend it in my mind. I am always asleep before I spend too much !!!!!!

Bricky I'm lucky if I manage 4 hours a night and I think Melanie Giles (IP) is not much better. I can't sleep just can't switch off ever. Wish I could.

Just yesterday I bought some Rescue Remedy (Night) to see if that helps as at the minute sleep is extremely lacking due to an op I'm going for on Thursday.

I hope that sleep returns to its normal pattern for you as the IVA progresses.

Thank you Bricky.

I sometimes turn on the laptop and do some posting on here but more often now I watch rubbish TV and try and doze until morning on the sofa, not doing the electricity bill much good but it's helping me a bit.

I've only ever taken a sleeping tablet once and won't do it again, it left me like a zombie the next day (and believe me I don't need much help to achieve that most days). I went to work typed a whole email in the subject line and sent it to a colleague at the main campus.

Nobody has ever mentioned it and I didn't realise for several days!

LOL @ Lesley. I have to be very careful with pills as I react strangely ... most painkillers make me throw up rather violently. A whiel ago the doc tried me on a low dose anti-depressant which is used for pain relief and I was literally unconscious for three days !!!

Your not the only one ....as Lesley says there are a few of us that find ourselves on the forum at silly o'clock...even me now that my IVA has ended over two years ago...I still log on and respond at silly o'clock.

I don't sleep much past 4am most days but I don't get up - the earliest I'm on the forum is about 6.30 when I get up for work. My phone is switched off before I go to bed.

My husband would kill me if I was on here throughout the night!

Mine would be - he'd kill me if I took my phone to bed and the laptop stays downstairs.

He'd know if I was on the computer during the night.

Mine would sleep through WW3 I watch iPlayer or something during the night now and have it on the bedside table but he wouldn't have a clue, I am fairly considerate though and do put headphones in so I'm not totally heartless.

My hubby just appreciates and supports my insomnia by being obliging with any how I can get to sleep.
