how soon after your last payment should you cancel your direct debit, my final payment left my bank on 28th Feb..

As long as your IP has confirmed this is the last payment you can cancel it right away.

I agree with Foggy, so long as your IP says it's definitely your last payment cancel that DD. Well done on completing.
