On Friday I made my last payment to the IVA. I have butterflies in my stomach.

I signed PPI papers over 18 months ago and have no house to worry about remortgaging as we had to give it up at the start of the IVA. DFD say our closure should be straight forward......I won't hold my breath but you never know there could be a positive post for them.

For these five years we have been planning a 'to do' list. One of the first things was to plan a holiday. Oh dear I think I have been in a time warp regarding money or am I just very sensible with money now and won't be ripped off by glossy brochures now it is my money I am saving up!!

Hubby and I have been awake since 6am as we are still getting used to the idea we are finished. At the moment we have decided to just sit back and not rush into anything. We shall save some money and think about things. Wow this is a new experience. It feels so surreal.

Am I alone or does everyone feel like this?

To be honest, I really looked forward to the last payment, but was a bit of an anti climax really. Yes the payments are over, but we just feel like we are now just left in limbo, we cant move on until we have our completion certificate.

I think that with an IVA it does change you for life. I never stop thinking about money (or is that just me?) Everything I see, everything I buy goes through my head, do I need it? how much is it? can I get it cheaper?

Hubby and I off to London for a weekend away (Fri-Sun) and dreading how much we'll spend.

Lesley I think you are right an IVA does change the way you look at spending. I have lost a lot of weight and needed some new clothes including underwear. I have saved some money and went to M&S but found it very hard to justify the prices. I bought a pack of knickers and came home with money still in my wallet.I will try again next weekend.
