Hubby and I have just come back from a week holiday in Paignton, we managed to get a cheap deal as we have been there before and are both now over 50 so for a week in a caravan for us both it was only £125. We booked it last year so we had plenty of time to save up for it etc,
We seem to have got out of the habit of spending though as we ended up only buying food and drink for the caravan
we went into the amusement arcades both put £1 in each then looked at each other and said no it was a waste of money, everything we went to do we ended up talking ourselves out of as we couldn;'t justify the expense. The only thing we did pay out for and didn't mind was to go to Torquay museum as they had lots of Agatha Christie stuff (a favorite author of mine)

Think the IVA has taught us you don't need money to enjoy yourself, the best fun we had was going swimming in the indoor pool on the camp which was free.[:o)][:D]

Glad you both enjoyed your week away on a budget.

I always take a minute to consider whether I really need an item before spending anything.

I am a tight scotsman, with short arms and deep pockets!!

I go through phases, sometimes I can still be a spendthrift, but then others I am a tightwad and will question the value of something before I pay for it.

Glad you had a great week away xx

Glad you had a good break.

I'm the same lem, sometimes I'm tight and sometimes I spend too much even now! We've just got back from Florida and let's just say I didn't quite stick to my budget!

Not as bad as I used to be though!

My other half says I am turning into his mother. I look at the price of things and just lately I convert to old money. Example he bought a chocolate bar and I had a fit because it was over 10 shillings.
