Well, last night my gorgeous fluffball passed away and I am heartbroken.
We had Jasper our beautiful cat for nearly 8 years, after rescuing him from the Blue Cross in 2006.
I can't beleive the hurtful comments my manager has just made to me at work today about what has happened, and wished I had stayed at home. Some people are so cold hearted and insensitive, yet ironically I work in HR where you thought people would know better.
Anyway, I don't want to burden you all with sadness as I am thinking about all the happy time we had with him.
Just know that this forum has much nicer people than some in the real world x

Oh SuperGert, I'm so sorry. Some people can be so insensitive. Harry is more than 'just a cat' to me and I can imagine how you are feeling now. Animals are so much nicer than most humans!
Think of the happy memories you have of him and what a good life you had with him.
Sending you a big hug xxx

Sorry to hear about Jasper, Gert. Pets are family members, albeit of the (usually) hairy kind, an make just as great an impact.
<<hugs>>

Sorry to hear about Jasper, I don't have any pets myself but can understand how you feel as my sister-in-law has a lovely dog which I would miss never mind her when anything happens. Sending you the hug you need, as for your manager ignore him/her and keep thinking of good times together

Big hug from me SuperGert, I know the hurt when you lose a pet. The only good thing in this sad event is that you will probs be down the cats home at the weekend looking for a new fluffy companion.

So Sorry for your loss, My Cat is my life and my family. The person who has said this to you probably has never had a pet who they love. Years ago I was upset because my then Cat had to be put to sleep, my Best Friend who had never had a pet said to me "Don't get upset, you can always get another" which upset me even more. Not long after she moved in with her Boyfriend who had always had Animals and they soon became Parents to two boy Kittens which my Friend was horrified about at first, but they soon became her Babies and she doted on them. I reminded her what she at said to me that once, she replied "I bet you could have killed me" Some people are unlucky enough to never know what a Pet can mean xx

Thank you all for your king comments and thoughts.
Ironically my manager has had pets in the past, she is just one of those people who only care about herself, and I have to be there to listen to her problems all day long, no matter how trivial, but the gesture isn't replicated back! Anyhow, I am just going to ignore what she said.
Jasper is now at rest in his favourite place in the garden and have found a rose called a Japser rose, which I will plant on top when it gets warmer [:)]
