I keep my IVA a secret from everyone apart from my eldest Son and one of my sisters. This week she gave me a pair of shoes (cost her £75), they are so comfy and pretty and have made me feel happy and lucky. This week I will be mainly eating pies from leftovers[^]

Oh what a lovely sister you have...I like a nice pair of shoes I do admit. So pleased for you, enjoy your shoes.

Fantastic ) We too have kept our iva from anyone its not easy is it . especially when special occasions come up or you get invited to do something costly. Either trying to get out of it or living on beans on toast for a month to fund it . Enjoy your new shoes

When I was in the IVA it was me, my husband and my youngest daughter that knew, we hid it from all else, sometimes I wonder how but we managed.

Each to their own ..we told parents and siblings, and close friends ... for us it worked but i understand how others have not been able to!

I've told no one -my best friend knows I've had money trouble, but doesn't know to what extent. I may tell her when it's over. I would never ever tell my brother as he has struggled for most of his working life, being made redundant through no fault of his own and managed to support a wife and three children and I luckily have had the same job since I left school,so I don't think he'd understand how I could get in such a mess. My Parents are dead,so I don't have to worry about telling them. Keeping it secret does stress me out sometimes, but I don't think I could face the alternative!
