I started 2008 thinking it will be a reasonable year after the traumas of late 2006 and moving in 2007!

Thought should be able to get on with life without to many distactions and how I could be so wrong!

January is always busy and I can live with that but then what happened to February! Spent the first 10 days without heating due to the boiler deciding to stop. Trying to get a landlord to sort it out was a joke and I just wish I went with my own instinct and sorted out it myself! This I eventually did! Funny how I could get a Corgi registered gas engineer to sort it out within 24 hours and it only took an hour!

Went to a Wycombe match afterwards and thought I could return to life!

Christmas present (a music centre) which Kathryn and I decided to buy eventually turned up. Basically a present to both ourselves after all the difficult years we had. Put a CD in it started playing the first few tracks of my Supertramp album I got for Christmas. After the second trap it decided to go strange. Followed by testing the radio and found that stopped after 20 mins!

So back that went!

Was informed by someone that he was not going to pay me so after experience of fighting me for payment I decided that it was my turn to have a go! Having debt problems one finds experience gained by dealing with courts is invaluable. Went on claims online and sorted that out awaiting to see whether a defence will be filed!

Then someone approaches to buy the car! Now if anyone knew my old car you would have thought it was ready for the scrap heap. Finding every excuse as to find why they should not buy it,they were determined so I eventually agreed after getting it checked by a mutual friend who is a car mechanic! That meant that I had to find a replacement which I did! Funnily enough whilst this was going on I had a call from the HP company who gave me finance to buy the cars previously told me if I required support they would be able to help me. Without wanting to embarrass myself I told them of the problems and that I had been in an IVA. "Not to worry " they had seen that I had paid off two debts and the IVA was cleared so that shouldn't be a problem. They offered me finance which I could handle and they were very quick to point out that it would help to restore my credit file as well, in case I ever required a mortgage for the future. Personally as it is a car and I need one so I took it out and can easily manage the repayment. I guess a debt for a house and a reasonable car are things we should still need finance for and not the credit cards. The finance company did say that looking at my bank accounts how good those basic accounts are and are very good for financial planning as there are no surprises on bank charges and interest.

The finance was at least of the problems as it took a week to try and get the garage to sort the car I wanted as they were busy with March new registeration sales. was told that mine was a bit to old for them to have on that day. after all being a nissan dealer and buying a Vauxhall astra is not very clever! The car is an 02 with only 35000 miles on the clock! The other thing it is an automatic use to manuals so trying to get it going was a very interesting experience especially when I couldn't move the automatic gear lever at the gararge where I got petrol! After 3 minutes realised I had to put the brake down to release the gear! Oh what fun!

Amazingly they told me they would arrange the road tax and they could get insurance cover for a week to do this! So I thought what a good idea so i went for it. What they didn't tell me that I would have to give my life story to their insurance company! That took a day to sort out!

In addition I am starting to see the effects of real financial worries taking hold on people and being asked what their options are. It is really starting to get tough out there!

Anyway there you go I think life is starting to quiten down and I can get on to do the things I want to do!!!!!

Hope you are all well!!!!!
