Hi mish
'Ambulance chasers', what a phrase to use, I can understand that yes there probably are some companies out there that give debtors the wrong impression especially with their advertising, this is not the case for all though. I think I remember reading something about it being reported to the advertising standards agency.
But then there are 'ambulance chasers' in all advertising today, look at all the adverts that appear on TV preying on the poor debtors with their offer of secured loans to wash away their worries. I detest those.

Our own professional association this week stated that "We didn't lend it, and we didn't spend it".
It is time to stop blaming insolvency professionals for the current rise in insolvencies. To be able to enter into an IVA in the first place, an individual has to be insolvent - which means that they cannot afford to pay their debts when they fall due. To suggest that members of my profession have created this issue is ludicrous.

Agreed Melanie,
I have taken some time off work as I need a break, the financial grief and BR has taken its toll on me over the last few months and I felt like switching off for a while.
So what have I been doing reading loads of books, chillin with my daughter, and reading the newspapers on-line .
This article was amazing - I tried to find the original article in the Telegraph but no luck.
I persoanlly think that IP's such as yourself are doing an amazing job, providing a fantastic service .
But OMG day time TV - I dont normally watch it but Im horrified at the number of companies offering loans and companies offering IVA's .. the way they are advertised is terrible - it almost sounds like a get out of jail free card.
I suspect that its those companies that are infuriating the banks.
