Myself and my husband are currently paying an I.V.A.and will have completed two years in October. However, we were allowed to reduce our payment when we needed to buy a new cooker and the payment dropped from £597 to £250 for one month. The direct debit then continued to remain at £250 for two more months. The payment was supposed to be increased to £697 to repay the balance due but the direct debit never changed and although my husband tried on a few occasions to contact the I.V.A. company no-one got back to us.
This month the payment changed back to £697 without any prior warning and because we have had to spend some of the money we saved on car repairs and new spectacles for myself (not to mention the rising cost of living) we have been told that this is our fault and we will now struggle to pay the monthly sum due. Is there not any way we can reduce the payment this month and catch up again from next month ? We feel that they have taken their eye off the ball and now expect us to be further penalised when we are trying our very best to keep up with the monthly payments due. When my husband requested that we start to pay the revised sum next month to gve us a chance to catch up we were told that we mst pay at east £500 or we would be in trouble and the I.V.A. mght fail. In fact the person he spoke to got quite nasty. Please let us have your advice. Thank You.
