Well I got the letter today that I had been dreading, my IVA has gone to Clearstart's sister company Debt Free Direct, the letter states that they are part of the Fairpoint company.
I guess my concern is that I have been more than happy with the service so far and am afraid that may change now.
I hope my fears are unfounded but I will poat on here with any updates as I know some of you guys have already had letters.

I am with DFD.....I know alot of people have concerns on them but I have to say I have had no problems.....see my post today re £3k payrise!!!!! They have reviewed and agreed my changes in less than a fortnight so people who say they are having problems with them - sorry I don't understand why!!!!!!

It just goes to show how much of a personal relationship we can develop with our IPs.

Hi Marsha, share your concerns. Got my letter yesterday including the resignation of my IP and introduction to two new IP's!
It says nothing changes, but presumably cheques for the 50% wont be to my old IP now and also to a different address. Going to try and make contact with DFD tomorow to sort out questions and put mind at rest.
Interesting that your IP can resign from the role, but we can't choose to change them. I guess if we could Melanie's firm might become the single largest provider overnight!!!
Best wishes
Martin

I have contacted DFD today with exactly the same enquiry as above and will post the response best wishes I did not want to change either I was very happy with Clearstart IF A FIRM CAN CHANGE YOUR IP AT WILL I THINK AN IVA HOLDER SHOULD BE ABLE TO CHOOSE WHO THEY GO WITH REALLY

I agree that if your firm sells out to another, then you should be given the opportunity to change to whoever you like, rather than being told who you will go with.

We were with ClearStart for 2 years and also received a letter of resignation from our IP last week. It also advised us of the appointment of 2 new IPs. Have to say I am really diappointed as I had only heard good things about our IP.
It does seem very one sided that we have no control over the situation.
We contacted DFD a few weeks ago to ask for advice on an urgent matter but as yet have not heard a thing....doesnt bode well I think...
