Hey all, could anyone please answer this for me:- when my name goes on the insolvency register, will it be my married name (my name now) or will it show my married name and my maiden name? Viki X

Thanks Kallis, I was a bit worried about a particular person knowing my address but they won't know my married name so that's good. I bet nobody looks at it anyway. X

I only did once Viki and hated it so vowed the next time I looked would be to check I'd been taken off when IVA is complete.

Oh really Chris? Hmm! Oh well, no going back now I suppose. Doubt this person will even know what this register is so I'm sure it will be fine even if it does go on. X

Yeap, it's also got our new address and previous address. I do think you can request that personal details be omitted from the register but I'm not sure if it costs anything

Mine also just has my current address on, but we've lived here for 19 years, so I suppose that explains that.

I've been married for 21 years as well, so perhaps that's why my maiden name isn't on there.

On the br forms it asks for any other aliases. Does it not ask that on IVA's?? Maybe that would explain it if it's not taken.

It would appear you cannot remove personal details from the register, it contravenes the data protection act 1998 but there appears to be nothing we can do about it.

If I could get it removed I would, I fear postal mail every day because of that dam register

Even the Information Commissioner is ignoring my complaints on it revealing personal information in a unsecured environment

Chris, I can't remember what was on my form. Hubbie reckons I didn't have to put anything down, but I don't know.

I am not happy that anyone can look on the register and see my name, but I have no reason to believe that anyone I know would.

There are two things I don't dread now - the phone ringing and the postman calling. If the postman brings anything from the iva council (what's happened to them?) or similar organisations then I stick them straight in the recycling.

There's nothing else he can bring that can affect me.

the thing i dont like about the register is that when you do a basic search on google of your name it shows on that about the iva [B)]

Fortunatly for me, whenever I have done a basic search, there are a lot of well known people, mostly in the States, who come up. I have not yet found my name on there.

Again, no one I know would have any reason to do that, and I don't think they would.
