Morning All.Is it me or do others get that 'saturday feeling' still of being able to go and treat yourself/family/others? Especially when you've had a hard week at work and believe you deserve it? Then you have to remember that you're in an IVA.There is no spare money...not even alittle bit this month as daughters activity weekend needed paying for!
I'm struggling to get the same knind of satisfaction from having a clean house, tackling the ironing!!! It's not working for me yet!
IVA's are a brilliant tool.But not on a saturady morning[:)]

If you can - go for a long walk or a run for half an hour. The sheer exhilaration of being out in the fresh air, is lovely, and you can mull over the last week and look forward to the next one. It costs nothing, and is good for your health as well.

i feel like that too cat.. but rather be where I am now than where I was.. still doesn't get rid of that glum feeling though

I have had a couple of spree's since starting my iva.....but all on ebay. I managed to pick up some real bargains and was so pleased with what I had brought.

Also agree with Mel, my dog has never had so many walks since my iva approval. I really find it blows away the blues and makes me feel better[:)]

I know what you mean cat, but it will all be so worth it in the end. Just look to when this all finishes.
As melanie suggests go out for a run, or a walk it would be in my case and get some fresh air, think of all the good things you have and what a nice time your little one will have on the activity weekend, thats well worth a quiet saturday. Blow the ironing and go and have some family time, whats a few crinkly clothes, if you lived here they would never get ironed. I buy anything that doesnt need ironing.
I am going to the meeting tonight but I am doing nothing before I go its going to be a me day, so the poor 20 year old is gettig lumped with the housework. I bet it will be worse than when I left.

You're lucky your 20 year old will do the housework Ang! Mine doesn't even know what a duster is for.

She's being staying at her boyfriends this week, hasn't been home since last Tuesday and when I checked her room for dirty washing, I found a dirty glass and a plate and a spoon!

My only shopping today will be a small top up at Tesco. I shall be checking on Ebay to see how much of my stuff has sold.

It's a bit too chilly and miserable here to go out for a walk as well.

Ha Jan I said I was going to leave it for her, that doesnt mean she will do any of it. In fact I just told her her and I got the usual "oh great". lol slightly sarcasrtic tone there was.
It is worth a try anyway. I wouldnt mind but since she has had her own car it gets hoovered twice weekly and washed. She has been back here a few weeks now and I havent seen her use the hoover in the house once, I had to tell her that we had a dishwasher as everything got dumped for me to put in it. Still, its my fault being the youngest she got away with everything. I may have to pass this over to daddy who will get results. Not a good weekend for the poor thing, mummy and daddy are desertinmg her and she has just been asked by older sister to have the two year old as well for a couple of hours. That means house desruction. I am glad we are leaving for the night.

I`m afraid going for a walk at the weekend is out for me as I`m a Postman and do enough walking and when you`ve been wet through every day this week being outside is the last place I want to be!

My daughter also has her own car, and I think it has been washed and polished about twice since she had it (she passed her test 2 years ago and has had the car since then). The inside has more CD's than HMV, clothes, papers etc. It's totally disgusting!

We have the same with the dishwasher as well. Hubbie tries to 'retrain' her everytime she leaves the stuff right next to it, but he wastes his time!

Her bedroom is usually a total tip as well!

My lad (9) tidies his room last week under the threat that anything left out of place by 5pm was going in a black bin liner straight into the wheelie bin!

I have never seen it so tidy after he had supposedly tidied it. It is still tidy now [:0]

Mind you it helps we have 4 bins as I hazve told him I don't mond filling them all! [:D][:D]

I got up and went for a run this morning. It was hard work as it was windy but I feel better for doing it.

You'll probably all think I'l really scummy but I couldn't tell you where the iron is! Clothes get hung on the airer or clothes line on hangers so they don't crease too badly and they can then go straight in the cupboard!

I've had my car 3 years and I've probably cleaned it on average once a year myself. I have had it done at the supermarket a couple of times (they do it much better than me!) but I really must hoover it out and bring in all the CDs that are in there. Every time I look at it I think it's disgusting, but I never get around to doing it. It doesn't help that I don't like the car, but as I'll obviously be keeping indefinitely I probably should look after it better!

Don't know where she gets it from! Every so often she will have a clear out, get rid of loads of stuff - and it doesn't look any different! Mind you, when she was younger, she had to be stopped from having any food upstairs at all. She used to hide it rather than say she didn't want it. There used to be a smell (as you can imagine!) and we would find rotting food all over the place!

Thank god she got over that phase!!!!!!!!!!

Ours was just the same threatened with bin liners and everything, I have never seen someone keep so much junk. Her way of tidying is to throw everything in a drawer out of sight and it was tidy. Since having her own place she is a little better. She has returned for a short while now, I think ????, but thereisnt a huge improvement.

Your all going to think I am cruel, but I have actually thrown a few things in the bin before now, so he knows I am serious. (they were broken, but even so).

I too have stopped the food going upstairs, he is a typical boy!!
