Ooh, I'm shaking, I feel really sick and I'm close to crying.

A lady has just been out, says barclaycard had sent her although I know they have passed it to mercers. Our next door neighbour was mowing his lawn, I didn't know what to do or say.

I told her my situation and that they should know all this as I tell them on the phone every week, I've sent them recorded letters and my IP has contacted them. To be fair she was lovely but I'm really worried.

This is my Dad's house and he has enough to worry about. He heard it all and asked whether they had come to take his stuff! I've explained that they won't touch his things but he must be feeling a bit sick too.

This is awful, I'm not answering the door again. Sorry, I just needed to post this, my hands are shaking.

Oh Viki that's awful. I can't offer you any advice but I wanted to let you know I'm thinking about you and sending you a big hug xxx

Thanks Skippy, I'm so worried about my Dad, if it wasn't for him I might be a bit more hardened to all this. I thought I was coping pretty well until this. X

I know what you mean - when I went BR I had a problem with Littlewoods. They had my old phone number at my mums and phoned her and were rude to her. I felt awful as I really didn't want to involve her with my problems.

I'm sure your dad will be ok - it must have been so scary for both of you.

Viki, that is so awful! [:0] It's the first time I have ever heard of them sending anyone round. I thought they had to warn you first.

I'm sending you a big hug too.xxx

I'd phone your IP and tell them as well.

Ah thanks everyone. I really didn't expect anyone to ever come to the house. I suppose my case is just dragging on now because of the sale, hopefully that will be finalised in a couple of weeks and then my IP can work her magic. My Dad has just gone out, I think he's a bit miffed with me. X

Viki - it is quite unusual for creditors to send collectors out to your house, and I appreciate how stressful that has been for you. Try and keep the pressure up on the sale, as there is no real way to stop this at the moment, although I hope that you will not be troubled again.

I don't think any of us ever do Viki. I had so many letters from both Barclaycard and Mercers threatening to send the debt collectors in, but no one ever turned up. I said that I would have been ready for them, but I would probably have felt the same as you did.

I do think it is bad though when you have kept them informed of the situation, and they know they are going to get some money back within a short space of time.

I hope you sale completes very quickly now so you can get it sorted.

Thanks Melanie. I wonder why she picked on me. She asked me for the dates of all my letters that I had sent as they had no record, but I didn't want to....I was paranoid about leaving her on the doorstep....silly, I know.

She was nice, not rude, said she didn't just work for barclaycard and that she was really, really busy at the moment. I bet.

Vicki, how awful for you. Hope your dad is ok and the pair of you get over the shock.
She's probably going to get a lot busier in the next few months, not looking good for lots of us.

Oh Viki what a shock that must have been for you, im shocked and its not my door they called at, i hope you and your dad are ok, maybe if you could give them another call and tell them how much this situation is causing stress on you and your family and that you arent ignoring them after all so why are they sending people around without at all and especially without notification first, ill keep my fingers crossed that this sale goes through smoothly and quickly for you, keep your chin up your almost there.

It makes good sense to photocopy all letters sent to your creditors and keep them handy in case a representative suddenly shows up, but as Melanie said, it really is very rare for this to happen.
