My husband pays me £50 maintenance a week and has not been paying for the last 2 months as he has been made redundant. He has always paid when in work. I am working extra overtime to make the income up. When I called and asked if this will affect my income (wages) figures, I was told that I would need a letter from my ex husband as proof. This cannot be done, as you can imagine, I have no intention of my ex husband knowing anything about my finances. and would be most unhappy if he was contacted by yourselves for any reason,

What can I do?

I need to earn an extra £200 per month (which I can do, by doing overtime) but then, my wage slips will be showing that I am earning more than proposed? however I need this money as my maintenance was taken into account as part of my income.

Please reply as I find it impossible to speak to an IP when i call.

thanks

Have you tried using the specific e-mail address that Blair Endersby put on their posts? This might provide a quicker reaction to be able to discuss this issue directly with your IP?

I don't think it is unreasonable for you to ask for confirmation of your ex-husband's redundancy - after all you would probably need to see this in any case for tax credit purposes. Could he not provide you with a letter and then you could forward it to your IP?

Please email your details and I can reply. But a letter suggests would probably suffice.
