hi
i have posted previously on this topic, but not sure what to do now. my son needs orthodontic work and the waitlist where i live is 3-4 years; as he is already 14 waiting is not an option if we want the work doing. my father-in law has offered to pay for his treatment privately but this is £2300, he is willing to let me pay him back at a cheap £30 a month(he knows it will take forever), am i allowed to do this whilst in my iva, i will fund this from cutting back on eating probably!!
any advice gratefully recieved, thanks

I am sure that your IP would have no problem with that - and can probably reduce your payments by £30 each month in any case to accomodate the repayment, which could be caught up by extending the term.

I have pliers and lockwire,if you are in my area I shall do it for £50(as long as you dont tell my IP).

Only joking before anyone pohnes up to book!! I am sure your IP will be as understanding as he can be over this. It would be terribly hard to live under IVA's if they werent a little flexible now and then!!

Have you thougth about contacting your local dental school?

They may be prepared to bump their list for him.

I used to work at the Royal London Dental School and they love unusual cases.

ALSO... check out other NHS dentists in your area or local areas. If your local dentist has an extremely long waiting list you may be able to purchase the services with your local health authority helping foot the bill.

Good luck
