Hey jill, welcome to the forum. I think this is one for the experts, hang in there, someone will be along to answer that for you. X

Hi Jill, there's no restrictions within an IVA on what jobs/offices you can have. The problem may arise if you are asked on application. Obviously if they do a credit check it's going to show up.

It could be a problem Jill. I don't know the 'ins and out' of it but as with some positions when you are classified as insolvent you are deemed to be open to bribery and corruption. I would have thought Magistrate would have been one of these such positions. Totally unfair of course but thats bureaucracy for you.

There should be no reason why you cannot apply to be a magistrate - but there will be a financial declaration that you have to make where you will have to declare your IVA, and this culd go against you.
