I think it is a real shame that what starts out by a forum member to be an innocent question to help them in their quest for debt freedom, lands up in a slanging match on the fourm.
I know of three topics that this has happened to in the last week alone, and although I appreciate everyone has their own views and experiences to share - the forum is the place alot of us come to for honest and helpful answers.
Please don't spoil it for those of us that need the forum to help us through our period of challenge !

The last thread wasn't a slanging match - it was a poster who decided that he was going to start insulting IP's. That is not good for the forum or the IP's, so that was why that one was locked.

The experts on the forum is what makes this forum so valuable - so those that start to abuse them in my opinion should be banned from using the site ! We need the experts to help us and guide us !

As Jan says the thread was locked due to the rudeness of one poster. I'm sure no-one wants to see things like that on the forum.

We thank the moderators for their constant vigilance ensuring that this forum remains friendly and entirely non-judgemental.
We would gently suggest however that the title of this thread tends to give a misleading impression..
Out of the 8514 members to date on the forum who together have made 177429 postings so far, only a mere handful have transgressed these principles - and we can almost count the number of topics that have had to be archived on one hand.
Please rest assured that in every case these members will be locked out pending a public apology, and the relevant threads archived. We always very much regret having to do this...

Thank you all - I just do not want to loose the friendly banter that goes on, and the expert advice that is shared amongst us all just because of a small handful of posters that feel it necessary to become agressive in their responses.

I just wish you'd wait until I've read it before deleting it!! It's like knowing the vicar is having an affair with a widow in the parish and not knowing who the widow is!!!

Sounds like a hotbed of sin where johnh lives, will we be reading about the goings on in your parish in the Sunday papers johnh?
Regards.
