We all knew that many people would be paying for Christmas through credit but am still shocked to see it is such a high figure:

It is the pressure, especially when you have kids I guess. As good a parent as you try to be, it all comes down to Johnny and Jane and their parents who buy them new iPads, iPhones, Bikes every Xmas and your kid just can't understand why they can't have the same.

When they get to a certain age I guess it gets easier.

Thankfully I just have my missus and parents who I buy for and the expense is minimal and done on what I have managed to save up.

Luckily my littl'un only asked for 4 things in his letter to Santa -- all inexpensive too --- and, even more luck .... we had them all already (one I bought 4 years ago, before the IVA, cos I wanted him to have one and then hid it in a cupboard and forgot about it ... Scalextric !! His grandparents spoilt him though:-)
