Just had a call from GE money advising I am behind on 2 payments, explained I have had IVA accepted and that any payments due would come via this. The man advised there was nothing noted on my records except, when I called on 25th to advise of IVA meeting on 28th.

He asked me for a payment from myself as IVA not noted, kindly declined this mans offer. Do you think this is a case of left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing?

I have emailed one of Melanies team to advise of call, but I really don't think this gentleman knew what I was talking about (foreign call centre I think)

Hi
Yes it takes a while for the left arm to hear about the IVA from the right arm.
You did right,do not pay anything once your IVA is agreed

foreign call centres REALLY don't help though. It's a nightmare at the best of times having to repeat your account number a million times let alone saying something that doesn't fit their "script". Then you have no chance.

I'm actually a bit of a masochist in relation to call centres etc. There are times when i'm RIGHT up for an argument with them which is a bit naughty really as it's not really a personal thing with the person I'm speaking to, just the company..

Still.. can be fun.. hee

Don't worry Angela, it happens when you're bankrupt as well! I had a good long arguement with Tesco Finance about the fact that they 'don't recognise bankruptcy'!

I told them that - not in so many words, but I think he got the idea! All he kept saying was that if I didn't make a payment my credit rating would be ruined! As if it wasn't already!

Ang,

i have actually got a bit of a dispute with the tax man at the moment but i'm always polite to them cos you don't want to upset them hey!

I guess it comes from the fact that i used to work in a leading financial services company and had years of abuse myself.

I always like using words that i know foreign call centre people will never know . I'm bad hey ;-)

I like using words they don't understand as well along with directing them away from their script.

OH company deals direct with India and although the people themselves are really nice they are put in stupid positions which makes it frustrating for all concerned. OH often pulling his hair out. He is a bit like Melanie - always working!! Hee hee. Shame he doesn't get paid overtime!
