Hello
We have suddenly received a letter from HFO demanding money that we apparently owe to 3G. We gave given the phone back (which was taken out in our daughter's name)in the 2 weeks period allowed about 5-6 years ago, but 3G would not release us from the contract. Now we are told we owe £170.00 with interest rising every day. We have tried to sort it out with 3G but they dont want to know and are very rude to say the least. HFO insists it wants to take us to court, even threatened us with taking possessions like house etc away.

Never heard of anything like this! How do we get this sharks off us and above all how is 3G getting away with all of this? What kind of a company is this?? Only got another day before they say they are given it over to their legal team. Your advice is greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

Hi there

Do you have proof that the item was returned within the cooling off period? And is there any acknowledgement from 3G that the items was safely received? If so, you have a good case and if they are intent on taking you to Court, go along and put your case forward and if you win ask the Court to award costs in your favour.

If you cannot prove the return then the matter is less certain, and you should probably take legal advice as to the best way to defend against this claim.
