i am with payplan who are trying to organize a DMP for myself. already paying into it (although it seems that nothing is sorted yet)
my question is, that i had a letter from max recovery saying that they have the debt for my barclaycard (relieved as they are much less aggressive than barclaycard anyway) however i am receiving numerous daily phone calls from barclaycard asking for money. i am telling them that they have sold the debt to max but they are saying it has been passed back. is that possible? they are also saying that they had letter from payplan 26 of last month but have not arranged anything.
i have told them that payplan have all my disposable income to distribute to my creditors and that they have had 2 weeks since being notified and if they want the money they should try replying to payplan coz its there wiating for them.

I would give Payplan a ring tomorrow and ask them whether they have paid any money out. We were doing a DMP with another firm before we went IVA and they used to send the money out on a set date every month and I frequently got calls and letters asking where the payment gone.

At least if Payplan can tell you that they have made the payments, you can tell any callers that.

Can't help you with the other problem though. Barclays passed mine onto Mercers (and they ARE agressive!) and eventually onto Max Recovery. Not heard of anything being passed back before though.

Sounds like a communication problem between Max and Barclaycard. Max would not be involved unless they had bought the debt.
