Have not posted on here for a while but look in many times during the weeks. I signed my trust deed (Scottish version of IVA) with Melanie's new Scottish office around 4 weeks ago and have around 1 week left to see if any of my creditors object to the proposal to stop it becoming "protected". Starting to get a little anxious now but now have the attitude that i have put my best proposal forward and what will be will be. If it does not get protected status i will definetely be going down the route of Sequestration (Scottish bankrupcy)
Fingers crossed i will post my outcome on Tuesday 27th.

Thank you all for your support.
Strange to think, but come the 1st June i will have already have made 3 payments to my trust deed (£700 pm) and providing the trust deed lasts for the usual 3 years i will have made allmost 10% of my planned payments!
The last 2 months have been great...cant remember when i last paid for food, clothes etc with "my own money" and living within my budget and not putting them on a c/c and buring my head in the sand. I just hope that the trust deed becomes protected as i would feel much more at ease knowing i am paying some of the debt back to the best of my ability. I will never be interested in credit in the future. Cash is king!

Hi Glen
Like you we're in a STD, two years plus gone. Those weeks of waiting are a wee bit nervous, but the Trust Deed would not have been put forward if they did not think it would get 'protected' status.. very very few fail at this stage and with Melanie involved, you should have no problem - just think of those poor souls 'down south' who are in 'it' for five years! (although they don't get automatic sequestration if it goes pear shaped).. don't forget to post on the 27th..

Viki,
Thanks for your kind words. Best of luck on the restaurant sale. I am sure everything will work out for you.
Bigpete,
I have read many of your previous posts when looking for info about trust deeds. They were most helpful, as you well know there is not much info out there for us as the IVA's have a much larger market and thus most of the info is relating to them.
I will post my results asap.

Hi Bigpete,
No news as yet (tried to call my ip but he is just back from holiday so will be pretty busy i would think)But as my TD was advertised in the Edinburgh gazette on Tuesday 22nd April i worked out that the 5 weeks was effectively "up" at the end of yesterday - which was a bank holiday so really the deadline day was Friday...and i dont think there was any objections then as i spoke to somebody at 3.00pm.
So fingers crossed but i am still very caucious (and nervous) and will not believe it has protected ststus until i am told by my ip.
Thanks,
Glen

Hi all.
Good and bad news i am afraid.....NR were the only creditor rejecting our Trust deed which unfortunately has stopped my wife from getting protected status, but was not sufficent enough to stop me from getting protected.
So at the moment i will be paying £500pm for 3 years and my wife who was offering £200pm is in limbo (but will probably have to go BR) until we hear if Malanie can manage to change NR decision. It is a strange one this as she only has 2 creditors - NR having 90% of the £30k debt.

Signed our paperwork yesterday glen, and the 1st thing the Ip asked was did we have any money owed to NR as he has found them troublesome but fortunately we dont.
Sorry to here the news about your Wifes TD not becoming protected,at least you managed to get yours sorted out. Fingers crossed that Melanie can work her magic and sort something out.
