Hi there, I am about to empty my account at the bank but my car finance is due on the 1st. My new bank will ring me on Monday re my new account application because I applied for it online, and they don't seem to have received it, so will check again on Monday, if not, they will go through a telephone application. At what point will you be contacting my current bank, as I am not sure how I will get my payment to them if I cancel all dd's and have no cheque book or other way of paying through my new account as of the 1st. I should be ok with utilities when I cancel the dd's as I think I can pay my monthly payment through the post office - or is that incorrect? Thanks for your help, Kazzy

Hi again Melanie, I have just read a posting on drowningmummy's topic re the joint IVA. Can you confirm that you are doing the proposal for my own and my hubby's IVA as we have submitted all the paperwork which refers to us both. That posting confused me a little so perhaps you wouldn't mind clarifying for me please. Many thanks Kazzy

You should leave sufficient money in the bank to cover the HP payment, and we will not write to your bank until you advise us that your new account is operational.

With regard to the way the IVAs will be presented, it is a little too early for me to tell, but highly possible that I will do them as completely separate cases - but don't worry I will be looking after both of you at the same time, and the proposals will be almost identical.

This is done to ensure that your joint creditors get a dividend from each estate - which is the right and proper way to deal with their claims.

Phew, thanks Melanie, thats a relief. Sorry to keep asking questions, but I need to get things clear in my head, so that I can confident in what I am doing. I will let you the situation with the new bank, but hopefully it will all be sorted by close of business on Monday. Thanks for coming back to me. Rgrds Kazzy
