I thought that might get your attention!

Prompted by a conversation with Ang...after we hijacked drowning mummys thread.

What does everyone do as cheap entertainment or do you save up and have the occasional big treat instead?

Why not share our ideas & hopefully we wont all end up on the beach on the same day!

well apart from camping and going to friends to get drunk...

me and my friends always take the kids to a park for the day!! we make up games and have a picnic. we play rounders and kickie cricket, also kickie rounders (sometimes only have a football)..the park is about 20 minutes away.. all we spend is petrol and money for a cup of tea and ice cream for kids.. Brilliant..

Wow I'd love to live near the beach! I live in manchester so I got into debt with motorbikes & cars when I was made redundant I couldn't pay the bills.

I'd still be in the same position though with jetski's & speed boats!

We can walk to the beach which helps and in a small community always meet up with people you know.

RIGHT YOUR MAKING ME REALLY JEALOUS NOW KIRSTY!

I pay a fortune to go on holiday to places like that!

My best mate's family own a little sailing boat... well it has a kitchen, lounge and sleeps 6. I can often get a cheap holiday when they're going I tag along as a deck hand & as long as I pay my way for food & beer I can get a decent holiday out of that!

I 've started to walk my puppy.I love it.Fresh air etc.Sleeping better than ever because of the excercise.I would love to be near the beach.Nearst for us is about 70 miles away. However, I am surrounded by fields and within 20 minutes car ride we're really have open spaces and large reservoirs.Nice chatting to different people.Keeps my mind off iva and work and all other stressors.Daghter comes with me so it's a nice family time. And, this week we all went a couple of nights as a family outing.Stopped off a local for a shandy.Cat

Oh roll on the day/nite we can go out to a lovely restaurant...and be debt free...apart from that we don't go out much but enjoy our time together..makes you think a bit more about how u spend your time when ure permanently skint.

Very true!
I've only been adapting for 2 weeks. Most days are spent with girls in the park or at local council Surestart centres where they paint and do other activities for free.
For a treat, I now go to boot fairs on a sunday and my budget is £10!

My MIL owns a static van in Heacham and so we get to go there whenever we want for nothing. Our favourite past time is fishing, very relaxing, we take the dog and bivvy up for the weekend...bliss. We also play 80's quizzes a lot from youtube.
