I am in an iva with my husband but are spilting up how does that affect the iva?

Hi Clare.. I'm not an expert and I'm sure one will be along soon to answer your query. Have you spoke to your IP? Could you continue to pay your payments together even if you split?

Are you both in IVAs or just yourself? And what are your personal circumstances - ie do you have children, own a property?

It is both of us, we have 2 children but do not own a home.

If you pay a joint contribution to the IVA, could you split that in some way so that you both make individual contributions but to the total amount of the current combined contribution?

I imagine that with having to pay to run two homes now, coupled with your partner's need to pay child maintenance, that this is bound to put some strain on your finances?
