Hi folks, just wanted to say hello and thanks for already giving me the confidence to go into a CAB and talk about my debts(shared equally with my wife). We have a mortgage and about 11k in equity, our other debts total 73k(unsecured) and are mostly with Lloydstsb and egg, mbna making up the other bit. We have an IP visiting us at home on monday to talk things over as his office is too far for us to get to and are happy to have him visit(just have to hide all the priceless antiques).I will let everyone know how things are going, although not sure how similar trust deeds are to IVA's,but I am sure I am not the only person in scotland to be looking at this site.
The IP is from the Tenon group,if anyone has any opinions on them please let me know.(on a list that CAB thought may be useful)
Thank you all for giving me the strength to stop juggling my debts from one hand to the other to get by.

Hi Plasticdaft,
Welcome to the forum.
I have signed my trust deed around 4.5.weeks ago and will see next week if it is protected. Not too many on here from Scotland but please feel free to ask any questions and i am sure you will get some good advice.
Dont worry about the home visit, i had one too and although from another company it was really good. Not awkward at all as Mark (my contact) was very non judgemental and generally very supportive. The 5 weeks fly by when you have your proposal signed for awaiting protected status.
Best of luck.
Glen

Hi Plasticdaft, I just checked our review boards for Tenon Debt Solutions and there are only a few reviews on there - but they are there to be looked at...
Good luck

Yes I had a look at those and they look favourable, just a shame there arent many to get a good across the board opinion.
Thanks for the help.

Can you tell me what name they go by,I dont want to just get advice from the one IP and you seem to be very well trusted, but I dont want to drag my heels either now that I have decided we are in deep doo doo!!!(should really have noticed 3 years ago)

To be fair the list wasnt a big list!! In fact to be totally fair it was a very small list,if you catch my drift. I am not sure how to sort out who the good guys are from who the bad guys are!!!

Latest update. Had a meeting today with Euan Thomson of Tenon group who was very informative on all things trust deed like, went over other options ie BR etc but we have decided the trust deed is the way forward. The equity amount will be fixed at the start of the agreement and an amount is to be included in the monthly payments to cover the amount so we wont actually have to release any equity in the house. The deed will run for 3 and a half years so fingers crossed it will all be accepted by the creditors and become protected. IP reckons that egg and Lloydstsb are ok to deal with. Another update as soon as anything happens.
