UPDATE!!!!
It's only taken three phone calls only to be told that
"the person dealing is out of the office but are back now so will pass your request to them now" Hmmmm... same reply over three weeks?[:(!][:(!]
Anyway I have now been informed that as I'am disputing my petrol allowance I shall have to supply one months worth of receipts. Thats just great another month delay as I collect these. Shame they did not ask for them at the start![:o)]
In the 4 years of my IVA I have never been asked to supply them and yet I have increased these on a yearly basis to account for the rising prices and not a murmur of protest.
Oh well, this month i had to use my contingency fund to make the payment and no doubt will have to do so for some time to come.
To be fair, I was told that I could decrease my payments though I was warned that this would be unauthorized??? so do I reduce the payments by the shortfall or not?

Disgusting, they really should know how much more expensive petrol is now a days, and the way it is going at the moment I can see 1.50 per litre being just around the corner, you need to be able to factor that into your review too.

I would imagine if you reduce your payments without permission they could default your IVA. I expect an expert will be along soon to give you some advice,

I also forgot to mention, I was told that as i had NOT supplied receipts for my petrol allowance that they set my expenditure back to what
I had claimed 4 years ago!!!!.

sometimes I think common sense should prevail.. fuel charges have nigh on doubled over the last few years..

The thing is it seems as if once they have an amount from you, they are very, very reluctant to reduce this. They increase it without any trouble but reducing seems to be a big NO!

To be totally fair to them they did say that if I reduced my payments that this would be taken into account as I'am trying to propose a variation and that they would not be sending me nasty letters about it. However if the variation was not approved then I would have to pay back ant shortfall.
As we all know money is very tight and if my shortfall ends up at around 300 pounds over 3 months (3 months is about how long DFD seams to take to get things done, I hope as this has been ongoing since Jan) then where on earth am I going to find that sort of cash?

I really don't think they would want the IVA to fail would they?
So long as you can prove your I&E I would not see any reason for your creditors not to approve a variation. And I'm sure I read somewhere that your IP can make variations without referring to creditors for a certain amount.
Worst comes to worst they may extend the iva, but I really would not have thought so, especially if they are using petrol at 80p a litre where it is nearer 1.10/1.20 now.

I don't think an extension is an option as we already have a one years extension as it is. Any way it's been so long now that I don't think we could face the thought of the IVA dragging on any further, though I'am pretty sure that 6 years is the limit that an IVA can run for.
What I would like to know that as I have increased my petrol allowance year on year (with no problems or receipts to prove) why raise it as an issue now?

if the worst came to the worst I would have thought you could tack this onto the end by way of an extra month.
Have you tried emailing rather than phoneing? that way you can deal with one person instead of several and you have a written record. When I had a problem after a payrise I eventually got it passed to my ip and a sensible outcome after a couple of weeks.
It isn't in anyone's interest for this to fail at this stage and I'm sure they will see sense!

Yeah,
Never thought about e-mailing them, it does seam like that every time I call someone else is dealing and I have to explain from the start each time.
Can you e-mail documents also or do they have to be sent in the flesh as it were?

May be a better option would be to find out who your IP is through the insolvency register and call them and ask to speak to them direct, rather than the call centre staff at DFD.
They may see more sense.

I scanned everything in and emailed them without a problem. safer than the post! and they can't say they havn't received them!
