Hi

I was wondering if someone could help me. I have been in a IVA since June and all is going well I have managed to keep up the repayments.
How ever I have just started a new job on a temp to perm basis and they have to check on my IVA I have been completely honest about it but I am now really worried that this will affect my offer of a permanent job. Does anyone have some experience of this or know what the likelihood is that it will affect me? They have said that it shouldn't but it depends on how much it is for!

All answers are welcome as I am really worried!

Hi Sarah,

It is hard to advise in these situations, as your employer's terms and conditions for permanent employment may include a credit check etc. As you know each employer's terms and conditions are different.

However in saying this, majority of employer's shouldn't have a problem with their employees being in IVA's. Try and remain calm until you know the outcome, you have done the right thing by being honest with them and telling them about the IVA.

Hope this information is of use
