I just thought of something at beginning of Bankruptcy do the people at the Courts look also at a new basic account with a new bank other than what a person may owe to previous bank?

I took with me only one debt to my new basic a/c and that was such a small monthly payment of £25 with no Interest whatsoever that i could manage it, unlike the thousands and larger payments with Interest. So what can i do about this dilemma?
thankx

Hi Razamataz, I think, although I may be wrong, that if you file for bankruptcy all your bank accounts are frozen, meaning that you need to open a new basic bank account after being made bankrupt.

I'm sure one of the experts on here will correct me if I am wrong, and be able to offer you more info.

Oh no[:-(] I opened a new basic account back in Nov as i had already employed Finance Inc to do a DMP for me at their advice only to find they weren't up to scratch and pulled out of my first standing order to them-then i had a funeral to deal with-and was being plagued by creditors letters. I have to keep my new account as it isn't a credit facility one and i can't go thru changing all my utility direct debits i'm up to date with plus my Benefits are paid into it.
Anymore experst out there?

I was told that if you have no debts with your current basic account, it may be frozen by the OR but not always and any money becomes part of your estate. However the bank will usually close it anyway there are only three banks that accept undischarged bankrupts. Nationwide, Barclays and co-op.
