I am a 23 year old who is presently living in France, but has a UK bank account registered to his parents address. They have decided to enter into an IVA and I am concerned as to how this will affect the credit rating etc of my bank account as I intend to make use of it when i return home. Any information regardin this would be appriciated.

Hello,

Welcome to the forum.

Your credit rating should not be affected from your parents’ IVA however if it did, you can apply to the credit agencies (Experian and Equifax) to be disassociated from their debts.

Good luck to your parents with their IVA.

Kind regards,

Julia

Hello keeper and welcome. Your parents IVA will have no effect on you. I wish them the best in getting it accepted. Offer them your love and support during a very stressful event in their lives.

They obviously informed you about their plans for an IVA. This tells me they trust you and want you to know what they are about to undertake. Be there for them. Love them for who they are. Believe me, they are under a lot of stress.

If they start acting abit out of character because of the stess. Do something for them that you know they would enjoy to decrease the stress. Just show them how much you care. It will mean alot to them during this time of vulnerability.

Please do not worry about how their IVA will effect you. It shouldn't as Julia stated above. BUT if it did, and they were good, kind ,loving parents, would you not forgive them and move forward?

I wish your parents the best of luck.

All I have left is my humour. :)

Your credit rating should not be affected by your Parents IVA as this has nothing to do with you. However, as you have the same name and address your details could get mixed up in error. If you feel that your credit rating has been affected you can contact the credit agencies and ask that you are disassociated from your Parent's credit problems.

Best Regards
Oliver
