we are currently in process of applying for IVA, we have had consultation visit, filled in all documents etc....consultant told us when people chase for money to say we are in process of IVA and that our IP will be in touch in near future.
just spoken to debt company who say we should only be saying we are seeking financial advice!!!!!
so what about the people who we have told we are going for iVA?
and surely if we just say to people ' we are seeking financial advice' this is not going to stop them pestering us.

Hi Baz36,
Has your IP given any indication when they will be sending your IVA proposal to creditors?
In my experience once it is decided that an IVA is the best route for you and all the necessary paperwork has been collected from you it is only a matter of drafting the proposal to be sent to creditors, which can be achieved fairly quickly, therefore your creditors would be notified of your intentions shortly.
With this in mind I would agree with your IP that you can advise creditors that they should receive your proposal imminently.
Hope this helps.
Kind Regards
Nicola

If you have decided to propose an IVA, your creditors should be informed of this at the earliest opportunity, and you should be continuing to give them progress reports as the enquire. This demonstrates that you are taking responsibility for your debts, and have engaged professional assistance.

If your IP has agreed to take your case on then you are telling your creditors exactly the right thing.
