My husband's ex wife has recently started texting his eldest daughter (his kids live with us) telling her "your Dad is in serious debt and he is about to lose the house". We are in the first stages of IVA and up until a month ago our credit rating was good with everything paid and up to date. I have run a check on Experian and there are no credit checks other than those we know about. Any idea how she could have got wind of this or are we just being paranoid? None of the kids know about it.
Thanks.

I wouldn't know, has he told anyone that has maybe let something slip? Not a nice thing to just text your child like that. X

Perhaps the kids have overheard you talking and have said something to their mum?

Still not a nice thing to do though.

No the children know nothing, we are very careful about that. Just wondering if there is any way she can check on our finances or find anything out?

What a shame that a mother can do things like that, that will only scare her kids. Not good.
Perhaps if they had any joint debts that are now to be included in the IVA proposal, the creditor has written to her??????

Your husband's full name is in your profile, you may want to delete it.....maybe she saw that.?

Or perhaps she is just clutchig at straws to run him down (as ex partners have a tendency to do) and hit lucky!

Hi
Thanks Viki, had no idea the name came up in profile details, have now deleted it. But I doubt she would be looking on this forum. There are no joint debts, he's been divorced from her for over 10 years now so I'm pretty sure its nothing to do with that. But her and her father are pretty evil and do everything they can to bad-mouth us both, and we have a feeling that they are finding things out somehow. Can someone do a credit check without it being shown on Experian?

Rockin diner, maybe one of the experts can answer that but I would have thought, no. Maybe as Debbie said, she is just guessing. How awful. X

Hi Vicky W.

I have now deleted names from profile but as a test I picked another members profile and did a search on google and hew presto it came up as a member of the IVA Forum.

Dynamite.

Can I suggest anyone who wants to remain private that they delete their name in their profile.

Were others aware of this??????????????

I wasn't aware of that, but lots of us have deleted their profile names in the last few weeks for security. I never listed my surname anyway. Glad you posted this for everyone. X

My name is quite common, and nothing about me comes up on google, just lots of other people who seem to be earning loads of money - real estate in california for one!

Once the IVA is sorted your names will be on the register for anyone to check, but not at the moment.

I doubt if she could do anything on Experian or any of the other agencies.

Perhaps she is grabbing at straws?

Not a nice woman anyway!

So sorry to hear that an ex is causing problems. It's not nice especially when there are children involved.

All the best
