Hi everyone how are you. I am new here although have been looking at the site for quite a while and now I am pleased to join in with the fun lol.
I live with my parents (mainly due debts leading to IVA) where I have lived all my life and after 22 years they are planning to move to wales.
After considering the move, plus points and bad, ive found myself wanting to stay put. I have a long term girlfriend and decent(ish) job at a sorting office where I have worked for the last 5 years. I travel 15 miles each way to get to and from work which I have an allowance for on my IVA.
My plan is to find rented accomadation near my job which will cut the amount of miles I have to travel each day which will lower my fuel expensices on my IVA.
Currently pay £200 per month board and lodging to my dad. If my girlfriend and I were to find a flat or 2 bedroomed house for about £400 per month we would go halves and it would work out about the same as what I pay to my dad execept of course food and bills etc. I estimate I would need about £400 per month to be able to go ahead.
My fuel allowance is £150 per month and Lodgings is £200, which would make it about a £50 shortfall per month. I would imagine a variation meeting would have to be arranged at extra lost to my creditors and they would be getting £50 less then before.
Do you think if I put this forward to my IP Blair Endersby, they would consider it or would they say forget it, lose your job, girlfriend etc and find a new job in wales your stuck with your parents until 60 months is through?
Thanks for your help in advance I hope I havent bored you.
Cheers John

Hi John and welcome to the forum.
I can't see Blair Endersby saying that! They do post on this site so may be able to answer your question on here.
One of the experts should be able to answer your question anyway.

As much as I would encourage all of my clients to move to Wales (I live in Cardiff and love this country!), I am sure that your IP would not be in a position to dictate where you live. They may well need to call a variation meeting, but I feel sure that creditors will support your revised offer on the basis that you remain fully committed to the ongoing success of your IVA. Blair Endersby do post on the forum, so hopefully someone will respond to you soon.

John
we can look at all possibilities to help you. Email me and i can look at the case. You dont say how long you have been in IVA or what your contribution is, it may be that you could use the descretion in the IVA and simply make the payments up at the end, if this is not possible then you may need a formal variation but this can be discussed.
Look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks for your help Melanie Giles.
Thanks Blair Endersby for your reply, Ive just started my third year on the IVA waiting for the annual report. My monthly payments should be £342 per month but have been reduced slightly to £305 due to struggling a little on the quite weeks at work, although just paid quite a big 50% overtime payment so kind of levels it of. I dont realy want to extend the IVA period unless it was absoultly nesasary. I think what I will do is get all my figures sorted find things in my allowances that i might be able to manage without and see what thats come up with then ill email you with the proposal.
Thanks for all your help
John

Hi John,
Good luck with getting this issue sorted so you and your girlfriend can relax and enjoy life. Where abouts in the country do you live now? (I'll be looking for lodgers when I move back to Bristol which is why I'm asking!!!!)
Like Melanie I also currently reside in Cardiff and it's a super place to live - Wales is besutiful and there's loads to see and do.
I hope you get the solution you want,
Hugs,
Chardonnay

hi chardonnay
wales is a nice place looking to go on camping holiday somewhere near cardiff or swansea. I live the opposite side of the country to you in a village/town called Alford in Lincolnshire not far from Sunny Skegness lol. I realy would like to move to wales I could get a transfer though my job then I might have to accept lower hours which isnt very good for the IVA. I think ill just have to wait a liitle longer to see what happens, see where the land lays.
Cheers John [:)]
