Hi there and welcome to the forum

I am sure that your IP will allow this expenditure to be taken out of your surplus income, but best to get this clarified with them now for your own piece of mind.

we recently had to review our I&E due to a pay rise of £3k - however when doing so I sent in receipts to show that our car maintenance, petrol, food etc etc had all increased and that on going the car maintenance was going to be an issue - they retained our payment at the same and have allowed us to increase our I&E by this amount to help us.

Speak with your IP as soon as you can and get it confirmed - they are human and will support you in this.

Hi Brainy and welcome. We too have been allowed to offset extra costs from our overtime payments for the car for anything over and above our allowance. Have a natter with your company, I am sure all will be fine.
