Bloomin' eck! Do these people never sleep?
Sorry to rant and moan but I'm so sick and tired of them!
I owe them £211 and I swear they must spend that on calls alone....per week.
They keep threatening to pass my debt on to a collections agency.....well I wish they flippin' would!!!
Rant Over![:(!]

Hi drowning-mummy, nice to see you!
Barclaycard were a pain with me as well. They then passed the debt on to Mercers, who are part of Barclaycard, and they are an even bigger pain! I never used to answer the phone, and used the delete the messages they left on the answer phone.
They don't give up!
Once we got our IVA they sold on to Eversheds/Maxdebt.

Well I'm going BR in about 3 weeks (if my husband ever gets his tax ref number!!!) so I guess I wont have to deal with Mercers!

hi drowning mummy,id just like to say that apart from being able to sympathise with you about the lovely barclaycard!!,earlier today i read your blog for the 28th july & i have been experiencing more or less the exact same problems.it was almost like seeing my own life being written by someone else.anyway,i just wanted to say that it made me feel so much better knowing that there are other people going through the same sort of thing. x [:)]

Thanks Tori,
I know it will sound cheesy but that is why I started the blog- to help others. Little did I know how theraputic it would be too. If you are going to write a diary then you have to include the good AND the bad.
We had major crisis talks yesterday which I will update in my next blog entry.
Thanks for your message and I'm here is ever you want to talk (just ask admin for my email addy),
Love Karen x

Unfortunately DM, they don't stop! 7 months into our br and we are still getting letters.....granted they don't phone but I very rarely give out or home number, even when asked. I just say, politely, that we are ex-directory because we don't want nuisance calls so I prefer not to give it to you as I want it to stay that way....

Mercers AKA Barclays, seem to be uniquely awfull in there treatment of customers, a speacial quality they seem to have cultivated in a way unlike the other major high street lenders.

I must say I dont miss those threatening calls from Mercers to "send the boys round"! We found their threats so severe, that even in the height of last summer we didnt dare leave our windows open for fear that one of "the boys" would appear through it!
I remember Eversheds being pretty interesting too. Before my IVA went through I learnt a valuable lesson with them. During one particularly agressive call, they promised that my account would be suspended and the calls would stop for 7 days if I made them a token payment of at least £10, on each loan debt of my wife and I by debit card there and then. Suffice to say I didn't get their name and position, and when the calls recommenced the next day I was told "You are wrong Mr, they wouldnt have said that." and they immediately took me to court to get a ccj!

Jeez Stu, that's horrible. I think that's the way my calls are going to go now, I've had the debt collector, she was nice and to be fair everyone on the telephone apart from one Halifax guy have been ok. I'm ready for them now!

Hi DM,
We had NEXT as creditors. Owed them about £2k. As far as I can remember, they didn't even bother voting.
They sent us one statement just after the IVA went through but I think that was because the computer generated it before and the post held it up.
I have to say, that apart from Egg who have stopped since we got our IP to speak with them, no one has given us any trouble. No threatening letters/ demands etc. I know we have been lucky and probably in the minority.
I do think that was because we paid all bills at the beginning of April, we had been thinking about IVA but not quite decided, and then started proceedings and had it agreed within four weeks the creditors didn't get a chance to start those sorts of balls rolling.
Good luck with the BR. Loved your blog by the way. Really nicely written x
