Anybody know who a company called mercers are ?

Hey John, they are debt collectors. My barclaycard debt was passed to them. X

They are a debt collection company owned by Barclays' who often use threats to make personal visits which according to many on here do not materialise.

I was the unlucky one apparently![:(]

You certainly were Viki! You're the only one I know of who has had a visit.

I had so many threatening letters off them, I had enough to paper the loo!

It's funny, I only get a letter every fortnight and a call every 10 days, not bad eh?

That's obviously to make up for the visit Viki![:D]

We're all pretty well aquainted with Mercers!! I just save up the letters and send them to my IP - if they ever do visit (apart from you Viki - I think you shoud get a prize for being unique!!), hopefully it will be after I move in two weeks - then they'll have to find me!!

Hi yep Mercers do work for Barclays and Barclays subsideries such as Solutions Finance, Littlewood Catalogue and Monument finance.

They used to send me letters every 3 days, apparently, they work in Barclaycard in Kirkby Liverpool on the top floor of the building, and apparently they are told to either get the money back and get commision or get sacked.

Mercers Sold mine on before my first IVA and didnt even bother with me for my second IVA. Not the worst of companies, but still nasty

yep ive had letters from them too but they werent too bad but they shouldnt come to the house tho

They do send someone round occasionally Mark - Viki had a collector round the other week.

Had a call this morning from them wanting to speak with my wife and when i asked who was calling Mr Attitude told me Mercers and it is a personal call so i told him BYE BYE ! and hung up
If they are part of barclaycard thats strange because barclaycard put our debt with max recoveryy and they voted yes on the IVA 2 weeks ago !

What gets me with these sort of calls, when they say they are personal calls, they could be stirring up all sorts of trouble for people with controlling partners!!!!!!

If your OH is the jealous sort, and you haven't told them what was going on, who knows what might happen?

Yep, especially if the caller is of the other sex.

Can you imagine, its a personal call.
